Prominent cement manufacturing companies of India

Birla Corporation Ltd is counted among prominent cement manufacturing companies of India and the part of MP Birla Group. It was started in 1919 and has been in the industry from last 90 years. Company has huge product range that includes Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC), 43 and 53 grades, Portland Pozzolana Cement (PPC), Fly Ash-based PPC, Low Alkali Portland Cement, Portland Slag Cement, Low Heat Cement and Sulphate Resistant Cement.

It sells cement under the brand name of Birla Cement Samrat, Birla Cement Khajuraho, Birla Cement Chetak and Birla Premium Cement. Also company export large amount of cement in Nepal under brand name of Birla Cement Samrat, Birla Cement Khajuraho and Birla Cement. Company is ISO certified and follow quality guidelines. It has several manufacturing units in PAN India and all the manufacturing unit are environment friendly. 

Company has won several awards because of excellent work that includes Lal Bahadur Shastri Memorial National Award for Excellent Pollution Control Implementation, Best Energy Conservation Implementation Gold Award under the Rajiv Gandhi Memorial National Awards, Receives First Prize for Lowest Thermal Energy Consumption K. Cal/kg clinker under the 10th FLS Energy Awards, accredited with Greentech Environment Excellence Award from the Greentech Foundation.


Madras Cements Ltd is a well known cement company of India, started in 1961 and popularly known as Ramco Cements Ltd. It is the part of Ramco Group, a popular business house of south India. Company has eight manufacturing units, all equipped with world class facilities. Overall manufacturing units have total production capacity of 15.5 million tonnes per annum.  It is fifth largest cement producer of India and has captured huge market share of cement industry of South India.

In 2010 company has won Wins the National Award for Energy Conservation from CII and in 2012 won the CII Environmental Best Practices Award
